About Us
Blaze Real Estate & Property Management manages roughly 750 residential units across the Texas Panhandle, including single-family homes, duplexes, and apartment communities. We’re looking for a dependable, skilled maintenance technician who takes pride in their work and keeps our residents and owners happy.
IMPORTANT: You MUST have reliable transportation. Again, reliable transportation is REQUIRED. Our properties are spread across Amarillo and the surrounding Panhandle, so you will drive to job sites daily. You must also be willing to travel to properties outside Amarillo as needed.
What You’ll Do
- Complete work orders for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and general repairs
- Perform make-readies and turnovers on vacant units (paint, patch, fixtures, flooring touch-ups)
- Diagnose problems and communicate clearly with the office about parts, costs, and timelines
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls on a rotating on-call schedule
- Complete preventive maintenance and property inspections
- Keep accurate notes and photos on work orders through our property management software
- Treat residents with professionalism and respect their homes
Requirements
- Reliable transportation. This is mandatory, with no exceptions.
- Willingness to travel to properties throughout Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle
- Valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- 2+ years of residential maintenance or handyman experience
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair
- Your own basic hand tools
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor weather
- Smartphone for work orders, photos, and communication
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
Preferred
- HVAC experience or EPA 608 certification (Type II or Universal)
- Property management or multifamily maintenance experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
